WHY CONSERVATION IS IMPORTANT
In a region where droughts are cyclical, it is imperative that we protect our water supply by avoiding waste.
California suffered through a five-year drought that ended in 2017, and now is confronting another serious drought. Conservation will help us get through it. By using water as efficiently as possible – no matter the season or circumstances – we are better able to withstand winters with little rain and snowfall.
When we do have a wet winter, water managers have developed methods for capturing and storing the runoff for when it’s needed most.
Conservation is a way of life in California. By law, water districts across the state must meet certain conservation goals by 2025, based on reasonable water use.
While most people believe they are efficient with water, few understand just how much water they use. At Rowland Water District, we want to help you understand how much water you use, and how you can make changes if needed.
WHY CONSERVATION IS IMPORTANT
Water is a precious resource not just in Southern California, but all across the state. That’s why Californians must remain smart about water use not only during droughts, but in rainy years as well. New state laws require water districts to meet certain conservation goals by 2025, based on reasonable water use.
While most people believe they are efficient with water, few understand just how much water they use. Rowland Water District wants to help people understand how much water each customer uses, and how you can make changes if needed.
