When it comes to reducing your water footprint, small changes can add up to make a big difference. Here are some small tricks to save water.
OUTDOORS
Use drought-tolerant landscaping
Check sprinkler systems for leaks
Install aerator sprinkler heads
Replace your traditional sprinklers with drip irrigation
Only use a hose with an automatic shutoff nozzle
Use a broom instead of a hose to clean patios, driveways and sidewalks
Lower the water level in your pool to reduce water loss due to splashing
Only drain your pool when necessary
INDOORS
Check to make sure faucets are not dripping
Install aerators on all faucets
Check your refrigerator and ice machine for leaks
Run the dishwasher only when full
Thaw frozen foods in the refrigerator instead of using running water
